New regulations from the Government and the Church of England now permit churches
to once again hold gathered services, under strict conditions.
In the Meridian Benefice, there will be one service for the whole Benefice each Sunday,
at St Mary’s Church, Bluntisham-cum-Earith, at 11.00 a.m. , from Sunday 2 August
onwards. Social distancing will be observed, and worshippers are asked to wear masks.
New advice from the Diocese is expected at the end of August, and the arrangements
for services in this Benefice will be reviewed then.
Meanwhile, Individuals can enter all three our churches for private prayer. The arrangements
differ for each church in the benefice:
COLNE The church will be open for private prayer 2 days a week starting on Saturday
4 July. It will be open on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 6.p.m.
BLUNTISHAM-CUM-EARITH The key will be available from the Rectory for private prayer.
HOLYWELL-CUM-NEEDINGWORTH As of 5 July, individuals wishing to enter for private
prayer can ask for the church to be opened by a volunteer, by contacting Revd Sheila
(contact details below).
In all cases please observe all notices and instructions about sanitisation.
